With this Christmas season often comes a feeling of running around frantically trying to buy everyone Christmas gifts, go to all the holiday parties,, wrap up loose ends at work before maybe being gone for a few days, and survive all the awkward/uncomfortable/tense gatherings with family you only see for these celebrations.
But in the midst of all the crazy family and too much money spent, can we remember what we’re supposed to be celebrating as believers right now? This might be an overdone topic to write about, but no matter how often we’re reminded, it can be so easy to become distracted by everything else happening that we forget the joy of this season.
Christ came to bring peace, hope, and joy, which are often feelings far from our minds as we rush around. Let’s focus our minds on this truth, and try to avoid feeling an obligatory rush for the last few weeks of the year.
If you want a really good Advent study to follow to help keep your mind on this, She Reads Truth has a really great one. I recommend you jump over there (or download the app) to follow along!
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
That’s all, friends. With lots of love,
